What is Agent Island?

An open-source status companion for Claude Code and Codex on macOS and Windows: live session state, your-turn alerts, and local monitoring with no Agent Island account or product telemetry.

Does it run in the cloud?

No. It runs on your machine, reads the transcript files your tools already write to disk, and calls the official usage APIs with the tokens you already have locally. No account, no telemetry.

How do I install it?

macOS, one line: brew install tristan666666/tap/agentisland — or grab the DMG from the latest GitHub release. Windows: download the AgentIsland win-x64 zip from the same releases page, unzip, run AgentIsland.exe.

Is there a Windows version?

Yes. Agent Island for Windows is a native WPF status companion with live session state, your-turn alerts, and the same report cards on Windows 10/11. Download it from the GitHub releases page.

Why does macOS warn me on first launch?

The app is ad-hoc signed (no paid Apple Developer account), so macOS asks for one right-click → Open the first time. Updates are independently verified: Sparkle checks an EdDSA signature before installing anything.

What's on the weekly report card?

Total tokens with an API-value estimate, a Claude-vs-Codex faction duel sitting at your real usage split, 7-day bars with a TOP-3 model donut, and your island rank. The image is rendered locally and shared only when you choose to copy or share it.

How do I report a problem?

Open a GitHub issue with your OS version, app version, Claude Code or Codex version, and the state that looked wrong.
